Your donation creates a lasting tribute on our streets, parks, and cemeteries, providing a vibrant, living memorial to celebrate family, friends, or dedicated town volunteers. The process is designed to be simple and flexible, allowing you to make your donation today and finalize the details whenever you are ready.

① Donate
Begin by making your commemorative tree donation online. We ask for a $525 donation to cover most, but not all, of the costs associated with purchasing, planting, and caring for a Commemorative Tree.

② Save & Return Later
After your donation is received, you will receive a unique FOMT Reference Number (example: FOMT-2027-015) 
and a confirmation email, allowing you to return and complete your tribute at any time.

③ Tribute Details
Tell us about your tribute, including whether the tree is being planted in memory, in honor, or in celebration of someone special. You may also share your preferred location and tree species.

④ Plaque Dedication
Provide the wording that will appear on the commemorative tree plaque. The character limits for each line are as follows:
Line 1: Maximum 40 characters
Line 2: Maximum 44 characters

⑤ Donors & Recipients
Add the names and email addresses of family members, friends, organizations, or others who should receive project updates and acknowledgments.

⑥ Timeline & Planting
We review your submission, select the appropriate tree and location, and schedule planting. Commemorative trees are typically planted during the spring planting season, generally April through May, when conditions are best for long-term tree health. Following planting, Friends of Manchester Trees will water and care for your commemorative tree for its first three years to help ensure it thrives.​​​
